The Department of Computer Science and Engineering – IoT, Cyber Security including Blockchain Technology at Asansol Engineering College (AEC) was established in the year 2022, with an intake of 60. This forward-looking department is dedicated to equipping students with cutting-edge knowledge and practical skills in some of the most transformative areas of modern technology.
With a strong focus on Internet of Things (IoT), Cyber Security, and Blockchain Technology, the department prepares students to meet the emerging challenges of the digital era. The curriculum is designed in alignment with current industry needs, offering a blend of theoretical foundations and hands-on experiences.
The department boasts a team of qualified and experienced faculty members, state-of-the-art laboratories, and a learner-centric environment that encourages innovation, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Students are also guided to work on real-world projects, publish research papers, and participate in workshops, seminars, and hackathons.
By integrating futuristic technologies into its teaching and research activities, the department aims to produce industry-ready professionals and responsible technologists capable of driving secure, intelligent, and connected systems.
Dr. Sambit S. Mondal
Head of the Department
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Computer Science and Engineering – specializing in IoT, Cyber Security, and Blockchain. Digital transformation is an ever-growing trend, and our department has a mission to provide students with the skills and knowledge that will empower them to succeed in this ever-changing environment, which is more aligned to the needs of industry and society.
In designing our curriculum, our goal was to blend the fundamentals of computer science with emerging technologies: Internet of Things, Cyber Security and Blockchain. It is our goal to provide experience that promotes innovation, critical thinking, and a practical problem-solving attitude through experiential learning, research, and industry collaboration.
Our faculty members strive to provide environments that blend academic rigor with industry expertise allowing students to become curious, researchers, and independent learners. Our faculty also invite students to participate in interdisciplinary projects, hackathons, internships, and workshops to strengthen their learning in the field.
The heart of our mission is to develop ethical, responsible, and competent professionals who can address the technological challenges of the future.
I encourage you to take advantage of the opportunities our department has and be part of an exciting and diverse academic community.
